Native American Cooking and Recipes - Pemmican - Meals - Recipes

Native American cooking and recipes cover a wide spectrum. From the east, south, west and northern areas each with their own indigenous foods sources. This document addresses the Western Plains Indians, precisely Lakota (Astucieux).

Many procedures and ways of cooking are not employed in the present day besides on unusual situations when a ceremony would demand it. In ceremony, the foods is cooked outside more than scorching coals or buried in the ground more than scorching coals. Formerly, cooking vessels were rawhide containers. Heated stones were additional to the mixture to warmth. Most meat and provide were dried.
