The flavors of Jamaica are the product of the island's heritage mixed with a verdant, lush weather. The Spanish, British, African and East Indian have all had an have an effect on over what is in the present day a distinctive island cuisine constructed colourful by the plenty of tropical fruits that prosper here.

The waters off Jamaica have commonly teemed with fish and seafood is the essential protein source for islanders. Snapper, grouper, sea bass and other reef a deep sea fish are caught daily by the plenty of fishermen whose boats line the shorelines.
